Clutch Springs for Strong and Precise Power Transmission

Clutch springs ensure the correct pressure on the clutch plates and determine how firmly the clutch engages. Over time, these springs can lose their tension, causing the clutch to slip or the engagement point to change. By replacing them in time, you maintain the original clutch force and prevent power loss.

Function and Wear

Each clutch spring presses the plates firmly against each other as soon as you release the clutch. With prolonged use or high load (such as sporty riding or a lot of traffic jam riding), the springs can become slack. You will notice this by:

  • A slipping clutch at high RPMs.
  • A higher engagement point than normal.
  • Less direct power transmission.

Types of Clutch Springs

There are different types, depending on the use:

  • Standard Springs: ideal for daily use and OEM specifications.
  • Heavy-Duty Springs: offer more pressure and are suitable for sporty riders or tuned motorcycles.

Always use a complete set to ensure even pressure distribution across the clutch plates.

Installation Tips

When installing, check the condition of the clutch plates and spring bolts. Install new springs crosswise to prevent uneven pressure. Follow the prescribed tightening torque and preferably use a torque wrench for precise installation.
