Brake Shoes for your motorcycle
Many older motorcycles, particularly in the rear wheel, are still equipped with drum brakes. A drum brake consists of two crescent-shaped brake shoes mounted on a fixed brake anchor plate, which doesn't rotate with the wheel. Surrounding this is the brake drum, which is attached to the wheel and rotates with it. When you press the brake pedal, the brake shoes are pushed outward to make contact with the brake drum. The friction that results slows down the wheel.
The brake shoes are lined with a high-friction material known as the brake lining. When you release the brake pedal, springs pull the brake shoes back into place.
Over time, the brake lining wears down, so the brake shoes will need to be replaced periodically.
To find the correct brake lining for your motorcycle, simply enter the make, model, and year of your bike into our search system, and you'll automatically be shown the right options.
