Brake Discs for your motorcycle
Most motorcycles, especially in the front, are equipped with disc brakes.
During braking, the brake pads in the caliper press against the disc, and the resulting friction slows the motorcycle down.
A floating brake disc is made of two parts. The part in contact with the brake pads has some lateral play relative to the section rigidly attached to the wheel hub. This design prevents lateral forces from being transferred to the brake pads.
With rigid brake discs, lateral movement can push the brake pads back further than needed, causing a delay in brake engagement. Some play in the caliper suspension and wheel ball bearings helps solve this issue.
Your motorcycle's brake discs endure heavy loads and are constantly exposed to the elements. They generally require no maintenance, and you can easily check when they need replacing by measuring the disc's thickness. However, worn brake pads can cause serious damage to the brake disc and reduce its performance.
Motoshop Europe offers brake discs from all major brands. By using our search function (select brand, model, and year), you can easily find the right brake discs for your motorcycle. If you need assistance, feel free to contact our technical team.
